System Sensing: Listening Beyond the Mind

System Sensing Making sense of Complexity beyond the mind

System Sensing: Listening Beyond the Mind

When we try to navigate complexity through thinking alone, we often end up looping in analysis and overwhelm. Our minds grasp for certainty, yet the patterns we’re working with live in motion, across relationships, organisations and the wider living systems we’re part of.

System sensing is an embodied practice that helps us access the deeper intelligence available through the body. By slowing down and tuning in, we can listen with more than our heads, allowing new insights, creative responses and relational awareness to emerge.

This 90-minute session offers a facilitated space to explore how sensing, not just thinking, can support wiser action. We’ll work with practices that bring the nervous system into a more generative state, cultivating presence, connection and the capacity to perceive the “field” of a system.

You’ll leave with practical ways to:

  • Ground yourself when facing complexity and uncertainty

  • Tap into embodied intuition as a source of insight

  • Sense relational dynamics beyond words

  • Reconnect with creativity, care and possibility

Ideal for leaders, change-makers, facilitators and practitioners who want to work with systems in more life-giving, regenerative ways.

Come to practise. Come to sense. Come to remember what your body already knows. This event is brought to you by Cocreate Change, Social Design Sydney and School of Being.

Testimonials

"For most of us, who are cognitive bound, the carefully facilitated introduction was appreciated and helped overcome the initial reaction to sensing from a new worldview. Thank you I greatly value the experience as you have opened up another path for exploring complex situations."
- Bruce McKenzie, Change Consultant and Academic
"I thought I was “just” coming to learn a new tool and get some cool new tips — but always I am reminded that real learning is transformative. I am still integrating this wisdom and I’m craving more. Thank you for the gifts."
- Katrina Mitchell, Facilitator
"There is an encouraging shift in design and elsewhere to pay attention to the senses and body knowledge as fundamental to how we get to know the world and how we work with the array of systems that are at play. My experience in their recent session opened new and interesting ideas for me to explore."
- Marius Foley PhD, Program Manager Master of Design Futures
