Wellbeing in the Work

A 2.5 hour workshop on vicarious trauma, regulation, team and self-care for people working at the edges of complexity and care

When our work brings us into contact with trauma, distress, or human suffering—whether directly or indirectly—it can take a toll. Without support and awareness, we may find ourselves fatigued, depleted, or carrying emotional residue that isn’t ours.

This session offers a practical, embodied space to reflect on how we care for ourselves and each other when doing work that asks so much of us. It’s about cultivating our own inner capacity, so we can stay present, resourced, and well.

What We’ll Explore

  • What vicarious trauma is, how it shows up, and how it differs from burnout

  • How the nervous system processes stress, and what happens when it doesn’t get to complete its response

  • Signs of overwhelm and emotional fatigue in ourselves and others

  • Embodied regulation practices to return to centre in moments of stress

  • A personal self-care map to support your ongoing trauma stewardship

You’ll leave with tools, insights, and a renewed connection to your own inner resources.

Who It’s For

This session is for people working at the intersections of care, complexity, and community—across sectors. It’s particularly relevant for:

  • Frontline professionals, researchers, and practitioners

  • Lawyers, policy makers, evaluators, and justice sector staff

  • Designers, facilitators, and social innovators

  • Coaches, therapists, and lived experience advocates

You do not need to have attended the foundational session, but the two are designed to complement each other.

Optional Foundation Module:

If you also purchase a ticket to the Trauma Informed Foundations, you can purchase both modules at a discounted price. Please select ticketing option that says two modules.
