A Grounded Start to 2026 : Feb

A Grounded Start to 2026
Many people arrive at the new year already carrying last year’s pace, stress and fatigue.
This session helps you land, settle and begin with a bit more steadiness — not pressure.
In this 90-minute online workshop, you’ll learn simple nervous system tools, grounding practices and a practical Capacity Map to help you move through life and work with steadiness, clarity and a more sustainable rhythm.
If you’re ready for a year that feels less overwhelming and more spacious, this session is for you.
Why this workshop matters now
Many of us start the year already stretched. We carry the pace, stress and expectations of the past year straight into the next — without ever pausing to notice what we actually need.
When our nervous system is overloaded, clarity drops, creativity dries up, and we lose the ability to make good decisions. It becomes harder to show up the way we want to.
What this often feels like
• You’re back at work but not fully rested
• Creativity feels harder to access
• You find yourself reacting rather than responding
• Decisions feel foggy or heavy
This workshop helps you notice these patterns, so you can respond more clearly.
This workshop gives you a grounded, practical reset.
A moment to land, breathe, reconnect with yourself, and gently expand your capacity for the year ahead.
What you’ll walk away with
In this session, you won’t be given strategies to push harder or optimise yourself.
Instead, you’ll be guided through a set of orienting practices and reflective maps designed to support capacity, choice, and steadiness in complex work.
Participants will:
- Learn how capacity actually works
Understand capacity as the ability to stay present, connected and responsive under pressure — not productivity or endurance — and why capacity narrows when work becomes complex or demanding. - Develop awareness of stress responses at work
Explore common adaptive stress responses (fight, flight, freeze, fawn, flop) and how they show up in everyday work situations — without pathologising or self-blame. - Work with practical capacity maps
Use simple, non-diagnostic maps to:
– orient to where you are right now
– notice what’s pressing on your system
– identify what actually supports your capacity - Leave with greater response-ability
Not by controlling reactions, but by noticing earlier and creating a little more choice in how you respond — individually and in relation to others.
Who this is for
This workshop is ideal for people who want to begin the year feeling more grounded and resourced, including:
- practitioners, facilitators and designers
- leaders, educators and change-makers
- carers and parents
- anyone wanting to create a more sustainable pace in life and work
This session is especially useful for people working in change, complexity or high-demand environments — where pace and expectations can eat up capacity before the year even begins.
What to expect in the 90 minutes
- A guided settling practice to arrive
- A simple introduction to nervous system literacy, capacity and resourcing
- Guided somatic and reflective papping activities
- Time for reflection, integration and gentle intention-setting
The session is spacious, practical and supportive — no jargon, no overwhelm.

About your facilitator
I’m Jax Wechsler, a trauma-informed strategic designer, coach and educator.
My work sits at the meeting point of nervous system literacy, creativity, strategic thinking and inner leadership. I support people and teams to work in more sustainable, relational and life-giving ways — because real change begins from the inside out.
I’ve taught these practices to designers, leaders, social impact professionals, government teams and organisations navigating complex work environments.
